Why InstaFi?

Some Context

  • There are over 400M centralized exchange users, but only 30M non-custodial wallets

  • Platforms that provided simple access to crypto yields like Celsius, BlockFi and Nexo generated over $50BN in AUM

  • There are over 30 fiat to crypto on-ramps, each with differing payment method coverage, geographic coverage and fees -> and new ones are popping up everyday

  • There are over 50 DEXs and 15 Bridges - each supporting different tokens, chains - and each with its own liquidity and fee structures

Our Thesis

If DeFi protocols can get to UX parity with CEXs/Fintechs they will be able to 10x their userbase, TVL and revenue, because they already offer the most important feature in crypto - higher yields.

Ecosystem Problems

CEX / New DeFi Users: These users are scared away from DeFi by complicated wallet setup and multi-step, multi-platform transaction journeys. While they may understand the financial logic behind DeFi protocols - they are often unable to bridge the UI gap and stick with the familiar UX option, which is earning yield through their CEX or platforms like Nexo.

Crypto-Natives: While these users are knowledgeable enough to research various trade route options - multi-step, multi-platform investment journeys are still very tedious. The UX difficulty increases even more when using a newer chain the user may not have used before, and now has to research bridge & DEX options for that chain.

DeFi Protocols / dApps: Protocols & dApps are missing out on a very large potential user base - and thus revenue & TVL - due to the aforementioned friction in UX. They need a way to bring their dAPP UX on-par with a CEX or web2 fintech to bridge the gap - and make depositing funds seamless, regardless of tokens currently in a user's wallet.

Developer Problems

Too Many Bridges, DEXes, & On-Ramps: There are simply too many options at each step of the transaction stack. On-ramps have differing geographic & payment method coverage, so to really maximize coverage, dev teams would have to integrate at-least 3 or 4. Similarly - different bridges support different tokens and chains, and also may not always be reliable, so redundancies are necessary.

Only Point Solutions: Some aggregators have come up to solve these problems. Most popularly 0x & 1inch at the DEX level, with a few newer bridge aggregators like Li.Fi & Socket launchng more recently. However - each of these services only solves one piece of the puzzle for dApps. 1 Integration for cross-chain, 1 integration for on-ramps, 1 integration for swaps, etc. - is quite a lift, and there would still be a gap between maximum functionality.

Solution

With just 1 integration to InstaFi's all in one transaction gateway - dev teams will quickly and easily enable the following UX features on their dApps!

  • 1 Step Protocol Deposits from any start token on 13+ blockchains -> with the cheapest transaction route

  • 1 Step Protocol Deposits from fiat with the maximum geographic & payment method coverage -> with the cheapest transaction route

  • Ability to login to a self-custody wallet with web2 social auth - instead of only requiring user to have an existing wallet
